Suiting and great tailoring will always be forever, but there’s something special about it this season. For the fall winter 2022 fashion trends our dearly beloved tailoring as taken on a sultrier vibe with suits that accentuate the curves with cutouts and or corseted silhouettes seen from brands like Mugler and Peter Do. We’ve also seen tailoring taking on preppier look with blazers and suites that exude prep school girl, high power business woman or English country side equestrian babe. Whichever way you decide to take it, there are lot of options to choose to pull from the tailored look.

RETURN OF THE VEST

In the late 2000’s, specifically 2007, the vest trend was everywhere. Since then, it has made a come back and the girls are loving it. This time around we’re seeing the vest worn together with a matching pair of trousers or a pair of jeans which has given the look a little more luxe than its 2000’s counter part. Usually the trends are a bit more elevated than a basic staple such as a denim but things have taken a turn this season. For fall winter demin is a lot cooler than it’s ever been with houses such a Loewe and Mugler serving us up super quirky pairs of jeans that’ll make you do a double take. Some looks that are really popular are the pairs with unusual cut outs at the waist, double waisted jeans, two-toned pairs, and jeans with cool patterns and panelling. The full on denim on denim look is making it’s own wave as well with many fashion girls luxxing up the Canadian tuxedo with heels and other cool accessories. It’s really such a joy to watch.

Mini bags have been stealing the show for quite some time and is even still pretty relevant as of the moment. But a new trend of carrying a larger bag that can actually use to hold our things is emerging this season. With brands like YSL and Balenciaga spewing out larger totes and shoulder bags we’re all reconsidering our mini bag fandom and finding room in our fashion lives to incorporate a larger bag that still has the style of a mini but enough room for our most important day to day essentials.

One trend I’m extremely happy to see come back around are maxi lengths. Whether that’s via maxi skirts or maxi dresses the trend adds so much luxe and elegance to any outfit. For the fall winter especially maxi leather skirts and or maxi knit dresses are super chic and will score you cool outfit points anywhere you go.

ALIEN SUPERSTAR

The alien aesthetic is one of the trend that’s the most polarizing. You’re either a fan of it or not. But if you’re down with the look, it’s sure to give your outfits an extra edge and turn a few heads in the process. The easiest way to achieve this look is by wearing a pair of the “Cyclops” sunglasses which comes in a variety of shapes to your outfit. You can either go for the slender pairs or the oversized looks. Either way it’s bound to score you some cool points.

Another staple turned trend are leather layers. Though leather is synonymous with fall winter, this season it’s taken on a new form.
