NYFW Fall/Winter 2018 Style Diary

Feb 16, 2018 | Fashion, NYFW, Outfit

And just like that another New York Fashion Week has come and gone. All the hustling from show to show in the freezing cold, trying to stay on top of a hectic schedule, and living it up at the best after parties is all over, but the fashion moments still remains very close to my heart.  This season was particularly exciting for me because the street style was so vibrant and alive! Everyone brought out their best looks in the boldest colors and it was a satisfying change to see since NYFW during February is usually laden with darker hues. Like other show-goers, I decided to fight the awful weather with some bright colors myself. Take a look below to get into all the looks I wore this season and comment below which one(s) stole your heart!

DAY 1: GREYSCALE

Day one for me is always about coming out with a bang. This time around I chose a monochrome tailored look to make that statement. My favorite parts of this fit are the layering aspect and the varying shades of grey. It really moves the eye around, making you stop at different points of the outfit. For this look, I layered my Missguided pinstriped blazer over my Missguided turtleneck bodysuit and my H&M grey mini skirt. To add more monochrome goodness, I draped my Zara heather grey coat over my shoulders and finished with a pop of white with the Missguided pointed booties and a bold red lip.  This look was hands down my fave outfit of the week and I’m currently finding a reason to wear it again!  And yes, I was definitely freezing! But it was all worth it. Wouldn’t you say? 🙂

DAY 2:  FAUX FUR REALNESS

SIMON CHETRIT  FOR  MAN REPELLER

I’m always looking for an excuse to wear this gem of a coat from Missguided, so I brought it out my fave lilac faux fur for day two. After freezing the day before, I knew I wanted to go for a warmer option. I chose this super fun look since I was heading to Chromat and Telfar that day, brands that are always a good time. To keep it casual yet dressed up I wore my Missguided faux fur coat, my favorite grey turtleneck sweater, a pair of Isabel Marant Étoile jeans and finished with my Missguided grey booties and Skinny Dip cross body iridescent bag. Wearing all this color made me feel so alive and it was a fitting look since day two turned out to be the most fun day of the week!

DAY 3: BILLOWING BLUES

KATHERINE PEKALA

On day three, the weather warmed a bit, but we were greeted with some rain instead of the cold. At this point, I started feeling the inevitable burn of Fashion Week and decided I wanted to be warm and cozy. I opted for this chunky baby blue sweater from Missguided paired with my Zara white tailored pants (still a favorite), and my trusty white Missguided white booties. For extra coziness, I layered up with my fluffy teddy coat. To add a dash of monochrome action, I pulled together the look with my Skinny Dip airy blue chain strap bag.

DAY 4: DENIM BABE

I rode the comfort wave into day 4. It was one of my least hectic days so I went for a look that was casual with a bit of edge. I wore my knit Missguided turtleneck sweater vest with my Missguided contrast stitching skirt, along with this oversized menswear jacket I stole from my brother (🙈). I finished with my classic Zara over-the-knee boots and my Skinny Dip x Julia Michaels backpack. This was also one of my fave looks because it was so effortless yet stylish. I wish I got better pictures of this outfit but I will definitely wear it again to make up for the lack of photo ops.
