The secret to styling a killer outfit every time is building a look based on one or two pieces. For this outfit, I centered the fit around the sweater with slits at the elbow and studded leather hat that gives downtown cool-girl vibes. Keeping with that theme, I was inspired to go a bit edgy with this look. Adding more leather pieces like the shorts and booties gave the ensemble a bit of toughness. Wearing black leggings under my shorts also helped gave the outfit an edge. Plus is a great way to stay warm during the winter. To finish, I sport a heather-grey double-breasted coat to add a classic touch to a playful look. The coat also adds another layer of gray that brings in a little monochrome action that’s always fun. Every cool girl get-up is not complete without a pop of red lipstick so it was only natural to flaunt a bold lip. Ps. lipstick is another clever way to add color to an outfit and is just as important as other components of a great look.
