STYLE DIARY: WINTER GETAWAY AT SCRIBNER’S LODGE

Jan 11, 2023 | Fashion, Travel Style

Whenever life begins to get a bit hectic, I always find the perfect retreat away from it all at Scribner’s Lodge. It’s a place that really grounds me thanks to the raw unfiltered beauty that surrounds the lodge and quiet that comes with being in the mountains. Something you just can’t find in the city. So when the FW22 season wrapped up last February, I headed right to Scribner’s for the reset and recharge I needed before jetting off again. Over my two-night stay I indulged in all the mountain living activities that filled up my soul all while maintaining a cozy yet stylish flair that was perfect for the occasion. If you’re jetting off to Aprés Ski this season or just looking for somewhere serene to hide out follow along for everything that I wore, ate, and saw.

TRAVEL DAY CHIC

For my travel day it was important for me to be warm as snowfall had just passed and I knew that it would be super cold. But of course giving up style for warmth was not an option so I opted for a chunky sweater and paired in with some casual blue jeans, a bean, and my go-to Sam Edelman western boots. It was the perfect look to be comfortable for the two hour drive up from the city that still met the weather requirements. Upon arrival, I checked in , settled in to my room, check out to lobby and got ready for dinner.

DINNER AT PROSPECT

One of my favorite things to do at Scribner’s is to dine at Prospect – the Lodge’s premiere restaurant. It’s full of farm to table goodies straight from the hotel’s very own garden along with a few pasta dishes to die for. My personal fave are the pancakes for breakfast and crab pasta for dinner. The mountain views are the perfect backdrop for dining and the entire experience is something that will forever be etched in memory. Just wonderful. As for my outfit of the night, I went with a collared body suit paired with a front slit maxi denim skirt. To finish I added some over the knee boots for extra warm and style dimension.

SNOW DAY EXPLORING

The next day, we were greeted with a bright clear day which was a stark difference from the overcast day we had before. I took the opportunity to get out and explore the grounds and take a few shots of the sites after breakfast. First I went down to the skating rink which was super picturesque set against the mountain views. It was breathtaking to see Scribner’s during the winter as I had been in the summer before but it was a completely new experience during the colder months. Different but just as beautiful. Even though it was bright, the temps were still quite low so I made sure to suit up for the weather. I wore my Allbirds puffer layered over my Calvin Klein fleece, a pair of leggings and my Allbirds weather proof Mizzle Wool Runner Up sneakers to keep the snow at bay. To finish, I popped on my knitted beanie for extra warmth. After exploring and getting some shots of the grounds I headed back in to warm up and get some work done.

COZY AT THE SAUNA

Later that evening, I headed to the outdoor sauna for some pampering which was the perfect primer before getting ready for dinner. For the activity, I slipped into my square neck swimsuit and cozy rob. The sauna, which overlooks the grounds, gave views to the sun setting over the mountains which like everywhere you look at Scribner’s Lodge, stole the show once again. It was the perfect way to end my last day and gear up for dinner.

SMORES AT THE FIRESIDE + COZY DINNER EATS IN BED

No trip to Scribner’s Lodge is complete without sitting around the bonfire to melt smores. It’s a great way to meet other hotel guests and really get into the mountain lifestyle. For the activities I had to be at the fire at 6pm but go to dinner right after so I opted for a look that would cover both. I grabbed my thickest knit and paired it with a pair of sleek faux leather pants. To finish I slipped into my western boots and was off to melt smores. I got a little too wrapped up in the activities and star gazing that I missed dinner at Prospect but I was able to grab some eats that I cozied up in bed with and had while watching shows. Talk about the perfect end to a much need two-day getaway that I needed.
