After ten years of living in New York City, I think it’s safe to call myself a New Yorker or a local as they say. Over the years, I have fallen in love with this city time and time again and certain places and neighborhoods have become very dear to my heart. Each time I visit Soho, Lower East Side, Brooklyn Heights among others I gain an extra boost of energy and a dose of inspiration. These three places have become my go-to areas where I spend most of my time being a local here in NYC. When Vender, a men’s and women’s wear ready-to-wear artistic-inspired line, launched their Tourist collection I knew I had to grab the local tee and show you around my favorite places to visit in NYC where I shop, dine, go out for drinks, and relax. Let’s start the tour!

SOHO
When I first moved to NYC in 2007, Soho was one of the first neighborhoods I discovered. I was instantly drawn to it because all the creatives hung out here. It felt like this is where I belonged. I fell in love with cobblestone streets on Mercer and the lofts high above that I still dream about living in. Soho being one of the most popular places to shop in the city, also made it one of my favorite neighbors to visit. I spent a lot of time here appreciating my fave spots in the area as well as just discovering new ground. You can find me here shopping on Broadway, dining, shooting content for the blog, or just wandering soaking it all up I always leave Soho feeling super inspired.
SWEET CHICK
Ever since I came across Sweet Chick I’ve been hooked! It’s kind of ridiculous! The American comfort food spot is mostly known for their chicken and waffles and chill vibes. I don’t know what they put in their chicken and waffles but somehow I’m always craving it with a glass of their lemonade. I love going here because the food is sooo good and really consistent. It tastes the same every single time. Plus they have the best playlist in there so I always hear my tunes while enjoying my meal. If you haven’t been then you definitely have to go!
PIANOS
If you can’t tell by now, I’m definitely a downtown / Brooklyn type of girl. Whenever I’m in the Lower East Side I like sliding by Pianos which is a little bar that has the best-frozen margaritas! Plus there’s happy hour every day from 2-8pm! I like chilling here cause it’s really laid back and just a cool spot to pass time or get some drinks. They also have live music and DJ’s throughout out the week which is cool too. I like to go when @angelanddren plays on Thursdays. It’s always a good time at Pianos whenever I go.
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS PROMENADE
NYC can get pretty hectic and even a bit overwhelming sometimes. Whenever I need a break from all the noise I like going to Brooklyn Heights Promenade to bring it all back in. Sitting still here and watching the skyline calms me down and gives me an extra boost to go again. Brooklyn Bridge Park as well as Fort Greene, two of my other fave spots in BK, is also nearby so I usually stroll through those neighboring areas when I’m around here. For me, Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a staple place to visit in NYC because it’s like experiencing the best of both worlds. You get to appreciate the city views while enjoying being in beautiful Brooklyn.
